Rame Community Kitchen

Launched during the pandemic, Rame Community Kitchen has evolved into more than just a community larder. As well as low-cost food, we have our own cookbook, cooking classes and a outdoor education and community garden partnership.

We believe that everyone should have access to healthy, low-cost food and that as a community, we can grow our own!

The larder provides low cost food supplies for those managing food insecurity. There is no means testing as we know that in the current financial climate, anyone of us could find ourselves short.

We keep a good store of ambient, chilled and frozen foods which are available to those who need it.  You can just pop along, sign up as a member and help yourselves to the food available, paying a minimum of £1 for a bag of shopping.

Open 1-3pm Wednesdays and Thursdays, the larder is located in a container in the grounds of Millbrook Football Club.

Volunteers run the container and we thank each and every one for their time and efforts to run this new project.

During the pandemic we made over 1735 frozen meals and helped over 100 households up to the end of September 2021.

This project was funded by Cornwall Council, Cornwall Community Fund and the ambient and chilled food has been provided from Fareshare, Treverbyn Community Trust, Cornwall Gleaning network, Millbrook Coop and people of Kingsand / Cawsand via Kingsand Village Stores 'Donation Station' and Cafe Abundance, thank you to all those who are involved for your help and support.

An extra special THANK YOU to Millbrook Football Club who have worked with us since it's inception, giving full access to their kitchen and facilities, without them this project would not have been possible.

You can pop into the Rame Centre in Millbrook to find out more, or call 01752 658516 for information about any of our Rame Community Kitchen Projects.
