Volunteer with us

Give back to your community and be part of something special. The Rame Centre, Community larder, Old Ship and Meet Up have regular opening hours and depend upon the generosity of volunteers. If you have any free time, we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested in any of our volunteer opportunities, please come into the Rame Centre and complete a volunteer form or email: admin@thepeninsulatrust.org.uk

  • Take photos, post on social media, create posters and digital assets to promote our events and services. Experience in graphic design and website design would be a bonus.

  • Respond to enquiries from the public, give information, take bookings, sell art, manage the window display and collect for the food bank. Three hour sessions, when you can - weekdays and Saturdays. Regular and casual volunteers needed.

  • Open and close the community cafe at the Old Ship, Cawsand - serving tea, coffee and cakes. The Cafe is open 10am - 1pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Regular and casual volunteers needed.

  • Regular Friday event at Millbrook Village Hall - offering support, signposting to services and friendship - helping set up, host or pack up our this vital community support.

  • Open, close and distribute food from the community larder, a portacabin located in the grounds of Millbrook Football Club. The RCK is open on Wednesday and Thursdays from 1 - 4pm. Regular and casual volunteers needed.

  • Weekly cleaning of the public space and main window.

  • Come & help out at our fundraising events - lots of fun and different every time! Better still organise and host one yourself or with friends.

  • Help us keep our outside spaces safe, tidy and nature friendly! We have a small space at the back of the Rame Centre and in the courtyard of the Old Ship.

  • We have to travel quite a way to collect food for the Community Kitchen and the Old Ship, if you make regular trips to Plymouth, you could save us time and unneccessary carbon emissions. This opportunity will suit you if you have your own vehicle, relevant insurance and are able to lift heavy boxes.

  • Help us ensure that we have plenty of proof of how vital our services are for funders and for our annual report, this can be done in your own time and at home if easier.

  • Help the public with IT, maintain our laptops, printers and other electronic equipment.

  • Organisation and publicity for events and activities to raise money for the trust itself. Can include coffee mornings, raffles/lotteries, exhibitions and auctions.
