Volunteer

Our success is down to the energy and commitment of dozens of local people, who offer their time and skills to run many of the Trust's activities.

The Rame Centre, Community Kitchen, Old Ship and Meet Up have regular opening hours but they depend totally on the number of volunteers we have - so more people means more public access. If you have any free time, we would love to hear from you.

You can give back to your community and be part of something special. There are a range of volunteer opportunities available, something for every skill, time availabity and wish!

People who like to talk & support others, and people who like to work solo on specific tasks. We don't insist on a regular weekly commitment, you come in when you can, and give us as much energy as you can spare. We have training and induction, and new people learn from others who've been here a while.  Contact us to learn more, enquire or volunteer!

Volunteering opportunities:

Rame Centre Front Desk Team  Respond to enquiries from the public, give information, take bookings, sell art, manage the window display and collect for the food bank. Three hour sessions, when you can - weekdays and Saturdays. Regular and casual volunteers needed.

Food & supplies collection We have to travel quite a way to collect food for the Community Kitchen and the Old Ship, if you make regular trips to Plymouth, you could save us time and unneccessary carbon emissions. This opportunity will suit you if you have your own vehicle, relevant insurance and are able to lift heavy boxes.

Data input Help us ensure that we have plenty of proof of how vital our services are for funders and for our annual report, this can be done in your own time and at home if easier.

Maintenance Painting and decoration, improvements to buildings, fixing breakages, etc. If you are a retired or currently employed tradesperson who can spare a bit of time that would be amazing!

Communications  Take photos, post on social media, create posters and digital assets to promote our events and services. Experience in graphic design and website design would be a bonus.

Computer Support  Help the public with IT, maintain our laptops, printers and other electronic equipment.
