Food for local people

The Rame Community Kitchen was launched this year and has been a much needed service for the local community across the whole of the Rame Peninsula.

For opening times and how to join up Find us on Facebook @RameCommunityKitchen

Our chefs have been preparing fresh frozen meals that are available from the Kitchen, these have included, curries, gammon, sausages and mash, lentil bolognaise and chilli, good staple foods which have proved popular with all!

Along with the frozen meals we have been keeping a good store of ambient foods which are available to those who need it.  You can just pop along, sign up as a member and help yourselves to the food available.  Volunteers run the container and we thank each and every one for their time and efforts to run this new project.

We have made over 1735 frozen meals and helped over 100 households up to the end of September.  The project continues to go from strength to strength and we have now moved the cooking operations to The Old Ship Inn kitchen in Cawsand.  But we must say a huge THANK YOU to Millbrook Football Club who have worked with us since it's inception, giving full access to their kitchen and facilities, without them this project would not have been able to get off the ground.

This project was funded by Cornwall Council, Cornwall Community Fund and the food has been provided from Fareshare, Treverbyn Community Trust, Cornwall Gleaning network, Millbrook Coop, Treverbyn Community Trust and people of Kingsand/Cawsand via Kingsand Village Stores 'Donation Station', thank you to all those who are involved for your help and support.

You can pop into the Rame Centre in Millbrook to find out more, or call 07942 342857 to acccess the Community Kitchen which is based in the grounds of Millbrook Football Club.
